2D Animation College Searching

Hi, I'm a senior in highschool and I'm looking for art schools that have good 2d animation programs. I've already applied to the Academy of Art University and SCAD, but I want to apply to more before it's too late. I was considering CalArts, but it seems rather intimidating and I feel like the intimidating atmosphere would stifle my ability to participate 100%. Also, I've got zero art foundation classes, such as Art 1, because my school has been primarily academic based. I draw on my own time but I don't think I'm that good at all, so I need a school with great foundation classes. Does anyone know of a college with a good 2d animation course and supplies good, basic foundation skills to their alumni?

I went to SCAD. It's a great school and has some great animation professors, especially the former Disney animators. The problem for me was that it took two years to even get to take animation courses, and I don't think the remaining two years was long enough to really develop my animation skills as much as I wanted. Sure, everybody can use some foundation classes, and they help most of the time, but I was forced to take SIX art history classes and several other irrelevant courses. I don't regret going to SCAD (I met my fiancee there.) but I think with CalArts, you get into the animation courses sooner.

have you considered RIT in ROchester, New York? its a BFA program, not an art school, but you start making films your first term, and make a total of 3 before you graduate. its part of the Film Program, so its more well rounded than a trade school.
