YO JOE! I'm back on the throwbacks with a vengance. As a kid I collected G.I.Joe figures and indulged in the 80's cartoon. One of the most remembered characters for me was Destro. Looking back now as an adult, he looks kinda pimpish, so I had to throw the Barroness in this pic. For the backdrop, I tried to replicate the toy packaging. I drew the characters on animation paper, scanned them in, then colored it all in photoshop.

Everything about it was cool (except maybe the super ultra american cold-war military brainwash theme and the later neon figures, how the hell can you make a marine orange and a ninja pink? lol.) Got hooked on it when I was 5 years old starting with crock- master and've been collecting ever since. Especially like the dreadnoks. Was fascinated by torch for a while. The only one of the original 3 who wasn't available in the Netherlands. Some of the free flyers and comics had an images of him though. Couldn't understand then why he never showed up in a store or flea market. Thank god for e-bay ;) The vipers and bats are fav's too. Later added some of the 60's and 70's stuff as well. Have a vid of my collection in 2006, still growing...yo Joe!; ▶ Reply to This

cool!! I always enjoyed the old gi-joe cartoon and attached is a illo of my favorite joe and yeah its snake eyes.

Hey Errrbody,

Here's my submission. In my opinion, the most boring and useless toy in comparison, but still rad nonetheless. Only 4 points of articulation?? As well, it seems as though he never left his suit. Even his PSA had him in his suit. I suppose if he was ever out of it, nobody would recognize him. Oh well, here's Deep Six.

Zartan was always one of my favorite characters. The figure was so much fun playing with in the sun. I was so bummed when I lost his mask ....ahhh childhood...

Cool one, nice work! :) My favorite dreadnok was ripper. Cause he had a mohawk and a bad ass knife (wich unfortunately was molded on) I Like his new mold too. He looks like Lemmy Killmister from Motorhead now. Ahhhh, nice, two of the three best things in the world molded in one; gi.joe and dirty rock & roll :) Have a pic included. Zartan was cool too though, a man and his coffin shaped makeup kit, haha, he was so goth ;D
