I love the 2 second contests. I'd even more love to see the max time at 2 seconds rather than five. There are plenty of other longer contests out there during the year. A 2 second contest is unique and it presents unique challenges.

Hmm. I never thought of myself as an attention whore, but you make a fine argument.

I might suggest the following. The 2 second animation contest allows people who have busy schedules to do something that is fun and encourages fellowship with other animators. At the same time, it is pretty challenging to think of something that is short but nice. So it's easy and challenging at the same time, allows people of all skill levels, styles and backgrounds to come together, and is just fun to do. And the people at Frederator are nice enough to include a variety of entries.

Agreed! If only for purposes of practice - something no animator can really get enough of - the 2 sec comps are good motivation.
