1) Be confident. if you're unsure of the idea, why should they be sure of it? A friend of mine used to sell tickets to a comedy club in times square, and he said the advice he got from a co-worker is "Approach everyone like you intend to fuck them." Now while that may be crass, it's good advice. You have to just be confident enough in yourself and your idea.
2) Know what helps that confidence? Being prepared. Know your idea inside and out, so you can answer all questions. Also, make sure it's complete. Don't be like "well, it needs some tweaking," because that shows weakness. You need to be like everyone's going to doubt you. Again, that may not be the case, but you need to approach it a such.
3) Speak loudly! Once again, CONFIDENCE. You can't be meek up there, or everyone'll take it as an opportunity to crap all over your stuff. Or worse, not have any opinion on it.
Thanks very much for all the help! I really appreciate it! Unfortunately, I won't get to pitch as I haven't be given the opportunity to pitch to Nickelodeon U.K. I'm quite upset about it. Thanks for the tips anyway. I'm sure it will come in handy next time. Thanks.
