I was in Barnes & Noble looking for comics today, and I passed through the childrens' section (I like to look at some of the stuff there; some of the illustrators do awesome work) and I came upon a book by Mo Willems, one of my favorite cartoonists and oldest influences. He was the creator of Sheep In The Big City, which, despite over-dramatic promotion by Cartoon Network, didn't really last so long. I thought it was a great toon. I love Mr. Willems' simple style to begin with and the show was very unique in its humor. Actually, some of the funniest things didn't even occur during the actual plot, but cut-aways to the Narrator in his booth complain or fake commercials. I think the show (and Willems himself) didn't get near enough recognition as it should have. What are your thoughts?

Absolutely, I loved Sheep. I used to stay up until 2AM to watch.

Yes, the ads were hysterical. And so was the 'Ranting Swede' at the end of each episode. It was so wonderfully surreal.

Good news for you, my friend! Mo Willems is working on a new show called Sit Down and Shut up. Loads of cool people in it, too.

I absolutely loved that show, and given more time it could get really good. Its spazzy-ness was one of its most endearing qualities. And of course, Mo Willems' drawings are always fantastic. Although, to be honest, some of the main plots sometimes got a little dull, but the additional segments always helped even the weakest episodes out. And I'll have to look that new series up, Andrew, that's great news.

Oh, and Sheep as a character just rocked. Period.

Oh my gosh Niko, I forgot about that one.
that was a good show, I remember they had really obvious names that matched their characters. or just.. oxymoron names.
It was a cool style, really loose and simple.

Sorry I've been like nonexistent for a while. College and work does that to ya... Anyway, I'm now at the Ohio State University, and depending on where I go from there I may try continuing in animation in France or something. Who knows... A guest ...
