Okay, let's get some stuff rolling here. I love seeing cool artists post new art, so let's share the talent!
We're all compulsive doodlers, so we all know the adage that every good drawing needs about a thousand bad ones first. There are bad days and good days, but every week there's gotta be something that we look at and go 'hells yeah'.
I just finished this this morning and the full-size version is on my deviantart account here
I'm proud of this because I try my hardest to improve my caricaturing and my digital painting, both of which I'm a bit lacking in.
But this came out well and I enjoyed doing it :)
He pulls the best faces in the course of being the Doctor, but Tennant's eyes and brows are what stand out for me, that's probably why I do them so big ;)
Actually, I just discovered something. David Tennant is the FIRST brown-eyed Doctor.
Hey Amy! I've seen your work on DA! The world sure is a small place huh?
I love how you did the Tardis in your painting with just the light showing. The light on the top of it is a great focal point, and it doesn't distract from the Doctor's face. I love his expression! Great detail too, especially the subtle highlights on the edge of the hair. O_o; I also like that you kept his suit jacket solid - then you really notice the details and don't get too caught up into the coat itself.
I'm working on inking and coloring this one right now, but here's my favorite sketch that I've been working on. :)
Oh great, now I have the theme song stuck in my head ;)
I remember discovering Samurai Pizza Cats on tv one morning. I was getting into anime at the time(comedies like tenchi Muyo! and Ranma) and it struck me just HOW uber-kawaii-anime this show is. I'm sure SO many jokes had to be rewritten for the English dub because the cultural references wouldn't translate ;)
Yeah, I think I found them one afternoon when I saw this commerial break message with this boy stuffing his face with pizza and this baby crying -- and I was shocked enough to become curious and sat down and watched it. By the end of the theme song, I was hooked. XD I never did get to watch the Japanese version, I bet it's pretty humorous too. But yeah, you can totally tell now that it's uber-dated with all the English jokes they threw in about Michael Jackson, etc. But that's what made it fun. XD Gotta love the narrator. And Big Cheese exploding every episode.... ah good times. :3
aww one of my first anime memories!! along with hello kitty and a version of the little mermaid that made me cry -_- great energy in this pic! :)
I used to watch that show religiously! I wish I could find the dvds!
Yeah, let me know if you ever see them on DVD! :) I know they released a few VHS in the States but they're extremely rare and I haven't seen one myself. It's unfortunate, cause it was well-dubbed.
I did this for a digital art forum activity - redesigning Masters of the Universe characters. I picked Buzz-Off cos the original was so pants, I could only improve on it!
I am officially going to start using 'pants' as an adjective in my every-day conversation ;)
Poor Buzz-off. He got the lame name and... didn't he used to speak in even lamer rhyming couplets? That's what I seem to recall from those little comics you'd get with the dolls.
*cracking up* They're all like "wth?!" I love their expressions. The little sprinkling trail of pink - that's a nice touch too. Your textures on him are really nice, especially the eyes, the translucent wings, the hair and the shiny exoskeleton.
