Scary Times (There is animation content, BTW)

I've been hesitant to taint the cartoon conviviality of RAW with political stuff, but I am becoming mighty concerned about how things may be going here in the US come November. My politics are liberal, read no further if this presents a problem for you.

McCain and Palin scare the Bejeezus out of me! And considering how good the GOP is at getting elected (governing is another matter) I wonder what can I do to keep us from going further down the bad road we've traveled this pas… Continue

Battling evil with the delicate heart of an artist

Joanna Davidovich's little run-in with Viacom has got me thinking about the big guys and the little guys. The Big guys, and Viacom is about as big as they come have voracious appetites. Appetites for content, appetites for talent, but above all and precluding all, appetites for profit and market share, hence Viacom's lawsuit against youtube, and their wanting to know every youtube video you've ever watched. (they were granted this access in the lawsuit) These big guys and their lust for control… Continue

The Cool and the Crazy

I had vague memories of this cartoon. It's still looks amazing and fresh. Probably because it was the first time around for this look. Now, If you'll excuse me, Miles Davis is on the Hi-Fi... Continue

Forgotten Masters of Stop Motion: David Allen

Back in the olden days, before Maya or even Softimage, there were a few ways you could get a monster onscreen. You could put a person in makeup, Like Jack Pierce did to Boris Karloff for Frankenstein, You could put a guy in a suit, Like Ejii Tsuburaya did for Godzilla. There were puppets even traditional cel animation was used, The ID Monster from Forbidden Planet, for example, animated by Josh Meador. But the monsters that captivated so many… Continue

And thank you as well! This is quite literally my first attempt at animation. We've been doing these audio improv podcasts for two years now, and have been wanting to do cartoon versions for about the last year. This current storyline becomes quite epic, and it seemed like a good story to translate into images, as it will get too confusing as audio-only. I've set myself up for a lot of work, but I'm already learning a lot.
