I figure it is tough out there, though I haven't been pursuing animation jobs myself (I know I'm not goo enough yet). From what I hear, however, once the ecomony recovers, there will still be a big demand for animators nd all kinds of digital arti...
I gave up even seeking freelance around the time this was posted... it is the economy. Making some independent work at home. That's what I would suggest- while hustling a lot to bring in other kinds of work- especially anything you can do at home.
I agree, It seem the work has moved out to places like india and china because of the huge tax breaks and cheap labour, makes me wish I had a production team and TV channel.

Just been trying to finish my student film. I'm freaking out a bit over it. Oh and I had to finish my dissertation. That was a load of hard work. Apart from that, just trying to get a first job.
Thanks very much. Sometimes I get a tad fed up with photoshop. You have all this frentic creative energy when you draw the picture and it's very hard to keep that up with the labourious photshop process. Thanks a bunch.
