About Me:

Mike Owens has been animating professionally and independently since 1996. His career began at Startoons where he worked as a lead animator on several projects for Warner Brothers television including: The Animaniacs, Pinky and The Brain, and Histeria. Two years later, Mike was asked to travel to Hyderbad, India to train staff and students at Startoons' sister studio, Heart Animation Academy. Upon his return to the United States, a drawing table was reserved for him at Calabash Animation in Chicago to help bring breakfast cereal icons to life including Lucky the Leprechaun, the Trix Rabbit and the Keebler Elves. Working with the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, Mike spent three years leading a youth animation summer workshop to help young filmmakers create animated short films.

Upon relocating to Minneapolis in 2004, Mike created a one-man studio, Humdinger Productions, to establish his animation and design business in the Twin Cites. Currently, Mike is an Animation Director at PUNY Entertainment in Minneapolis, teaches at the Art Institutes International and continues to create commercial and independent animation as Humdinger Productions.
