Well, how do I break in? I've just graduated SCAD, and I'm trying to find a place to start. Most jobs require 3-5 years of experience and I can't get an apprenticeship. I'm a character animator, by the way (2D and 3D).

I affectionately refer to this as the "Tits on Fire" syndrome. Meaning that I frequently find myself saying "I'll never make any money with animation cause I dont draw "Tits on Fire" in my cartoons."
