Did some scruffy animation for a-level art and was thinking of starting up again on a smaller basis while at uni. Though i prefer animation as a term instead of cartoon the quality and originality on this site was fantastic. And of course i like dark humour.

Favorite Cartoons:

As an animator my one of choice would be the animations of Jan Svankmajer. Sick, twisted and in many cases highly poetical. Someone who should be known to everyone.

but nick park and his twee wallace and gromit i find interesting, especially the attention to detail needed.

Favorite Films:

Neco Z Alenky (Alice to none czecks), little otik, pi, flash gorden (circa 1980), erm anything that is different or extravagent to whatever the tastes demand.

Favorite TV Shows:

monkey dust. to all americans i ask you to hunt this down, for the sick humour is something this site should revere. greatly.

Favorite Comics:

don't read no comics. there is less of a following out here than i believe in the US.

Favorite Books:

H2G2, of course, discworld for a time, jonathan coe writes novels i like as well, e.g. what a carve up. erm could also be any dystopian fantasies such as brave new world or 1984.

Favorite Artists or Illustrators:

german expressionsts from der brucke, jan svankmajer, dali, magritte, bill viola, turner, the imaginary prisons by piranesi, erm too many.

Favorite Music:

blur, radiohead, eels, grandaddy, tom waits, manic street preachers, beatles, beach boys, rolling stones, probably most stuff not of this century.

Favorite Robots:

frederator, naturally, the giant robot that chased me in a dream when i was five which made me get hooked on sci fi films of the seventies, the squid type things from the matrix, jed,
