Okay, so it's now 1.55am, and my dog has just farted. Great. I'm currently doing an all-nighter, so while the macs are rendering some sequences, I thought I'd head over here and update my ever-out-of-date blog.
We're working on a show that we've been developing for four months. We're due to go into full production in the New Year with the first 23 minute episode to be completed by the end of January. At the moment we're literally compositing the promo for the show, so I'm busy typing away to the sound of chug chug chug as each frame is rendered.
The show looks beautiful, but has caused us so much grief as we work out the production workflow. That's a posh term for 'tried, failed, tried again... and again' whilst having to restrain ourselves from using bad words or throwing the computers out of the window. I believe we've got it sussed now, so we should be okay.
The way we've designed the characters, they're 2D but they're unlike anything I've seen. Our prop and background designer has blown me and the client away with the quality of their work, so I know that if we get this right, it'll work.
This past year has been really hard for me, but it's also been the most rewarding one, so I'm kind of looking forward to 2009, but I'm also kind of nervous. I'm planning on taking a few days off over Christmas and getting as much sleep in, because I know that once we go into production it's going to be manic for a few weeks.
Well, that's it from me. As soon as I'm able, I'll post some images from the show so that you guys can see what I'm on about.
