Update from me!

Man, it's been ages since I was last here! Planet Sunday is doing okay, I've increased my staff and taken on another 2D animator, and we currently have a CGI animator too, who's with us on work placement.

We're in production on the first episode of Cranium's Ark, a 23 minute extravaganza which incorporates a mixture of 2D animation with live action.

The production has been okay, despite the initial problems of breaking the software - no, not hacking it, but actually breaking it, as in everything grinds to a halt and says 'no more, please - I beg of you!' Although I ranted at the Toon Boom guys, it seems that what we were asking the software to do was simply more than it could handle. With some files running at 17gb even our Macs were struggling under the pressure. But since then we've hit upon a new production process so that both Toon Boom and the Macs are working happily together again. We're animating at 30fps in HD quality, and so far it looks beautiful.

We have agreed on two more episodes for this year that will be released on DVD later this year, and we've just been commissioned to produce the follow-up to our first co-production with Debbie and Friends. "Three Pigs And A Wolf", which we produced last year has had over 10,000 hits on YouTube, and we hope the follow up "I've Got A Laugh" will be even better.
