Okay yeah, I can see the Gilliam influence here too. He did the openings for the Monty Python stuff, right? Especially with Kruschev popping in and out of the hole like that. Very silly. The madpuss test has a Southpark vibe too, but for different reasons. Looks kinda like a Cartman style body crossed with Hello Kitty or something. I'd like to see more with that character. I like that this one has a kind of message behind it though and how it deals with actual events and history.

Thanks for the comments. I wanted to do something very quick and use a minimal amount of original artwork. The paranoia and dialogue are references to the nature of sputnik and the liguistics of the time. I wanted to point out the irony of our our nations decline in space by making fun of the soviets. I am a fan of Terry Gilliams work, and I think some of the fun of his animation is the simplicity and silliness of the technique. Take a look at my mood test for Madpuss at www.madpuss-uk.com
Plus Kruschev is as hilarious as can be.

I can definitely see the Southpark influence as far as the animation, especially after seeing an episode recently with the Mel Gibson character. I like the random moments where he looks off to the side. The little spasms and stuff like that is cool. You've got that down pretty good. The arm is a bit weird, though it is funny when he waves his shoe.
